About Christmas in Japan, I think most Japanese isn't a Christian.

Its one of the event for couples, they go out wonderful restaurant for dinner.
They enjoy dating and share romantic time with partner.
They buy a wonderful gift for partner and share Love. :)
We dont know so much about what is Christmas exactly...,but most people have a wonderful memory of this event.
So young people wants to spend a Christmas with partner who share special Love. :)

If you dont have a partner(boyfriend or girlfriend) at the time, usually spend a time with friends and family.Enjoy the event.
We will eat Yummy Christmas Cake and Turkey.

One of great things for Christmas. Its the day for kids. :)
I was kids,I was always looking forward to coming this special day.
Because Santa Claus is bring present for all kids! :)
I think its more common all over the world now. ;)

I think its wonderful event for sharing Love and exchange a Gift with other.

How to use my Lesson

How to use my Lessons(Podcast)

First time, just listen. Then, listen and pause after each question if you need.
In this lesson, you will listen to a story with a lot of questions.
Answer each question loudly in Japanese, then play again.
Donʼt worry if you donʼt understand everything.
Donʼt worry about mistakes.

In the Story, I will do only three things:
1. I will make a statement. After a statement, just say, “Ahhhh” or “Ohhhh”.

2.I will ask a question that you know the answer to. Just answer the question. You donʼt need to answer with a sentence. You can answer with only one or two words.

3.I will ask a question that you donʼt know the answer to. Guess. Yell a guess
immediately.

Again, you can guess with just one (or a few) words.
Saying a correct and exact answer is not important.
The most important thing is speed.
Try to answer very quickly (remember, one word is fine). Speed is your goal. You want
short fast answers, not long answers! In the beginning, this may be difficult. Thatʼs OK. Use your pause button.

Listen to this lesson many times every day for at least a week.

Enjoy listening! :)
Love you.

I like and I dont like in Japanese

Ogenki desuka? おげんき です か?

Kyou wa "like and don't/doesn't like" nituite desu. きょうは "like and don't/doesn't like" について です。
(Today I talk about "like and don't/doesn't like")

kore wa suki desu ka ? これはすきですか? (Do you like this?)
Hai (watashi wa ) sukidesu.はい すきです。 (Yes I like this. )
Iie (watashi wa ) amari suki dewa arimasen/ amari suki jyanai kana~./a(n)mari... いいえ、あまりすきではありません。/あまりすきじゃないかなぁ〜。あ(ん)まり...。
(No I dont like this so much.)

I think Japanese people avoid saying "I dont like".It feels very direct.
So they say "I dont like so much." :) "A(n)mari..."means they dont want to say "dont like" even if they dont like. A(n)mari...,this "...." including I dont like. :)

They like vague/noncommittal words.

So Ive been in SF and when American people asked me "Do you like this?", I answered "I dont know...maybe I dont like it so much." And people think "??".
This means I wanted to tell them that its a little bit difficult for me to choose "like" or "dont like". :)

Anyway I think Japanese people like "vague/noncommittal" word and phrases.

I think people think about other people's feelings a lot. So if you say I dont like, maybe sometimes the other person feels bad- Japanese people think like that.
So many people avoid negation/denial phrases.

Im getting used to saying my feelings directly in US. But I still think about other peoples feelings first and next are my feelings. And Im still using a lot of vague/noncommittal phrases. :) Because Im Japanese. :)

See you for the next article or podcast!!

Have a wonderful day.
Love you.

"I Love you" in Japanese

Ogenki desuka? おげんき ですか? ( Hi, How are you doing?)

Watashi wa genki desu. :) わたし は げんき です (I'm fine.)

Today I talk about How to say " I Love you" in Japanese.
Many people already knows or very curious about it. :D

I Love you is Aishite imasu あいしています / Aishiteruあいしてる/Aishiteru yo あいしてるよ/Aishiteru wa あいしてるわ.

A man use more Aishiteru.
Female use Aishiteru wa more.

If you want to propose to women, you said Aishiteimasu. I think Aishiteimasu is feeling more formal. :)
But Japanese people don't say "I Love you " as often as American.
I think American people say it everyday and all the time to every body if you want. :)

I think traditional Japanese? was more shy,so a man doesn't say I Love you to women so much.
Before a man say Aishiteimasu means very serious with the women. :)

Now young people use more openly. :) I heard some people say "I Love you" in English in Japan.
I think its from influenced by American culture.
And people use I Love you in Japanese have deep meaning,so avoid to use or just use important situations.:)

But Japanese people use Suki desu (=like) a lot.
Sukidesu すきです/ Suki da すきだ/Suki dayoすきだよ/Suki yo すきよ/ means Like.
A man use more Suki da/Suki dayo
Women likes Sukidesu/Suki yo
Osaka-ben(Kansai/Osaka dialect) Suki yanen. :)

Anata wo totemo Aishiteimasu /Aishiteru. (I Love you so much.)

Have a great day.
Aishiteimasu. :) I Love you guys!

Peace and nuclear weapons

Peace and nuclear weapons

We have a very sad history about nuclear weapons.
on August 6, 1945 in Hiroshima and August 9, 1945 in Nagasaki

We will continue to relay a message of peace from Hiroshima and Nagasaki, a message passed on by the survivors, who overcome great difficulties.

In the hope that the people of the world can join hands and face a future free of nuclear weapons. We dont need nuclear weapons!!

Learn Japanese Vocabulary and Movement

Hi how are you doing?
Ogenki desu ka?

This is I and AJ from Effortless English found the method of Effortless way. :)
This article write about English learning, but its same as Japanese leaning too.

Vocabulary and Movement

So many students waste time trying to memorize English vocabulary. They study long lists of vocabulary. They repeat the lists many times, trying to memorize the English words and their translated meanings.

Research shows that 80% of vocabulary learned in this way is forgotten in less than a year. That’s a lot of wasted time and effort.

There’s another problem with this vocabulary learning method– it’s boring and therefore it kills long term motivation. Students must be very careful– killing your motivation is the worst thing you can do. Learning English is a marathon, it’s a long run. It requires high levels of motivation that are sustained for many years.

Using boring vocabulary learning methods, therefore, is doubly bad: it is inefficient and it weakens motivation.

There is a better way– as participants in my recent Breakthrough Seminar in Bangkok learned. It is possible to learn new vocabulary in a way that is far more powerful AND is a lot of fun. When you learn in this way, you will remember 80% one year later! That’s powerful.

The key to deep, powerful, long term vocabulary learning is movement. When we combine strong physical movements with understandable new vocabulary, we create deep connections in our brains and bodies. These connections are long term. They last!

In the seminar, I taught a number of new words using strong actions. The students shouted the new words with me, while simultaneously using the strong actions I showed them. By the end of the lesson, they knew those words well.

But that’s not all. Since Effortless English is a deep learning system, I repeated those new words again– this time in a Mini-Story. Each time I used one of the new words in the story, I used the same physical movement we had been practicing. Through the Mini-Story, the students got even more repetition of the vocabulary, with emotion and strong movements.

Finally, I gave the students homework: download the audio of the same Mini-Story lesson, and listen to that audio every day for one week.

If the students do this, they will learn these new vocabulary words very deeply, and will remember them forever. That is the power of the Effortless English system, and that is the power of using physical movement while learning!

Enjoy learning Languages. This is the key of success!!
I hope you are enjoy learning.

Have a wonderful life. :)
Love,

Tomoe
